The history of KAIST highlights the history of innovations in Korea. The 50^th anniversary emblem signifies the impacts KAIST has made to the nation’s economic growth and development. The waves below the number 50 express these impacts. The number 0 of the 50 is divided into three parts, to embody KAIST’s three core value of C³: Challenge, Creativity, and Caring. ​
