The Graduate School of Science and Technology Policy (STP) at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) invites applications for assistant professor or associate professor positions in the following areas – (i) energy policy, (ii) science education & workforce policy, (iii) information & data governance policy. As for energy policy, we are interested in candidates who can address national and global energy policy issues such as climate change, energy transition, and renewable energy with rigorous theoretical and empirical analysis. Candidates for science education & workforce policy are expected to conduct research and education on the impacts and implications of emerging technologies on science education and S&T workforce training in the face of the so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution. As for information & data governance policy, we expect candidates to lead research and policy development on the governance of information and data in relation to their increasingly diverse applications such as big data, IoT, smart city, precision medicine, etc.

We are seeking highly qualified candidates trained in law, public policy & administration, sociology, history, philosophy, anthropology, science and technology studies (STS), or other relevant fields. We welcome applicants capable of collaborating with science and engineering faculty, employing interdisciplinary methods and comparative perspectives.

Ph.D. or equivalent must be in hand prior to appointment, which will begin on March 1, 2018, though the starting date is negotiable. Review of applications begins on October 30th (Monday), 2017, and continue until the positions are filled.
