Singaporean Ambassadors Visit

President Sung-Chul Shin discussed ways to expand mutual cooperation between KAIST and Singaporean universities with Singaporean Ambassador to Korea H.E. Eric Teo Boon Hee during a meeting on February 25.

Ambassador Teo delivered a message from the Singaporean government in anticipation of more active bilateral and multilateral exchanges and collaborations between KAIST and the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the Singapore Management University (SMU), and the newly established Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Possible cooperation initiatives include facilitating student exchanges and joint research programs, and “the Embassy of Singapore in Seoul will act as a bridge between these collaborators,” said Ambassador Teo.

President Shin suggested that they work together to devise measures for the systematic advancement of cooperation in various directions, including education, research, and the commercialization of technologies, emphasizing that “these joint efforts will become the catalyst for scientific and technological innovations that may lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution in both countries.”

This meeting was held at KAIST’s Seoul Campus in Hongneung.
