Egyptian Ambassador to Korea H.E. Hazem M. Fahmy made another visit to KAIST on February 10, following up on his previous visit in July of last year.
During the meeting with President Sung-Chul Shin, Ambassador Fahmy delivered a message from the Egyptian government expressing its great interest in establishing an advanced science and technology institute in Egypt with the help of KAIST, which was the main agenda of their last meeting. He added that establishing a KAIST Branch in Egypt is one of the top priorities of the Egyptian government, as there is no institute currently specializing in science and technology education and research in Egypt.
In return, President Shin conveyed his sincere appreciation for the Egyptian government’s interest in seeking an expanded partnership with KAIST, and looks forward to continuing the discussions regarding the new branch.
