Grade Evaluation

The grade evaluation is the comprehensive evaluation of the following: exam results, attendance, research report, learning attitude, and etc.

F 0.0
For research courses and S-U subjects, the grade is not considered when calculating the GPA.
An “I” must be resolved within 2 weeks of the end of the semester. If it is not, it will be considered an “F” or “U” for research courses.

Academic Warning

Undergraduate Program

  • An academic warning is given for the next semester if the average GPA is less than a 2.0/4.3 in the previous semester.
  • 3 academic warning results in expulsion.
  • If a student returns after being expelled due to the accumulation of academic warnings, and receives another academic warning, the student will be expelled.

Graduate/Ph.D. Program

  • An academic warning is given to a student that applies to any of the following and carried out prior to the following semester:
    • If the accumulated GPA from the previous semester is less than 2.5/4.3, the exception being those who have less than 12 credits general education courses.
    • If the student receives a U (FAIL) in their thesis research in the previous semester.
  • If a student receives academic warnings consecutively (3 consecutive academic warnings for part time students) the student will be expelled.
  • If a student returns after being expelled due to the accumulation of academic warnings, and receives another academic warning, the student will be expelled.
