Registration Scholarships

Operation Direction

  • Can not benefit from duplicate registration scholarships. (Exceptions for cases receiving the National Scholarship (type 1) and part of the Low Income Family Scholarship)
  • Provide a scholarship corresponding to school support fees for 1 year (2 semesters) after admission regardless of academic record.
  • Provide a scholarship corresponding to school support fees if the student has completed at least 12 credits in the previous semester and maintained a cumulative GPA of B- (3.0/4.3).
  • Students receiving National Scholarship and External Scholarships must fulfill the academic requirements of the beneficiary institutions (even if the academic requirements of the beneficiary institutions are not met, a financial aid scholarship is provided if the above 2) and 3) requirements are fulfilled).
  • A scholarship is provided if the student graduates within 8 semesters after admission or fulfills the above requirements.
    For students enrolled after 2007, implement beginning in the Fall semester of 2011.
    • The previous semester’s grades are applied beginning with the Spring semester of 2011.
    • Students taking a leave of absence in the Spring semester of 2011 will only receive a scholarship if they were a scholarship recipient at the time.
    • Students studying abroad without taking a leave of absence in the Spring semester of 2011 will base their scholarship eligibility on the academic record of the semester before studying abroad.
    • Provide scholarship according to previous scholarship system for students enrolled before 2006.

Academic Promotion Scholarship

Operation Direction

  • Can benefit from duplicate academic promotion scholarships, may benefit in duplication of the registration scholarship.
  • The academic promotion scholarship provides monthly allotments (4 months per semester) for living expenses or a once per semester grant.
  • The academic promotion scholarship provided monthly cannot exceed 500,000 KRW per month.

  • Provide scholarships with funds raised by the department
  • Selecting candidates: select a student in accordance to the selection criteria the department has determined and provide scholarship
    * Selection criteria categories are: grades, income, and community service
Study Grant Less than 500,000 KRW University
  • Eligibility: a GPA of at least 3.0/4.3 in the previous semester; educational expense scholarship students who have received a scholarship (less than 2,000,000 KRW) from an external scholarship foundation
    * Development fund scholarship recipients are excluded
  • Amount Provided: 500,000 KRW if the scholarship exceeds school support fees; 30% of the scholarship provided by the scholarship fund if it is less than the school support fees

Labor Scholarship

Operation Direction

  • Can not benefit from duplicate labor scholarships (excluding T/A masters scholarships).
  • Divided into normal labor and special labor.

  • Financial aid is provided as a monthly living expense and can benefit from duplicate registration scholarships and academic promotion scholarships
