Each of KAIST's 271 freshmen donated USD 8.50 to the school, totaling USD 2,300, as part of a campaign to support their alma mater. The donation was presented to President Steve Kang on December 10, 2015.
The students made the donation to express their thanks for what they have received from the school during their first year in KAIST.
Hae-In Suh, a freshman who participated in the donation campaign, said, “I’ve enjoyed many programs and events offered by the university in my first year, in which I learned a great deal about the university life and found many friends. I’m really happy to finish my first year with this meaningful contribution, albeit a small amount, to the school.”

Ferroelectrics can be thought of as the electric counterpart to ferromagnets, as they maintain a polarized state without an external electric field. It is well-known that ferromagnets lose their magnetic properties when reduced to nano sizes below a certain threshold. What happens when ferroelectrics are similarly made extremely small in all direction

In particular, packaging accounts for 30-50% of the total plastic consumption. While paper packaging is eco-friendly, it lacks crucial functionalities like moisture resistance and strength. Traditional coating materials exacerbate plastic pollution, prompting the need for sustainable alternatives. Polyethylene (PE) and e
