Recruiting Foreign Teachers

KSA of KAIST, a special high school for students gifted in mathematics and science, is looking for competent and sincere foreign teachers as follows:

2. Eligibility

Science and Economics

English

A person with a doctors degree or a masters degree and 5 years or more of teaching and/or research experiences.

A person who is versed in English (Most lectures must be taught in English.)

A native speaker of English with at least a Bachelors degree or a person who is proficient in Korean and English, such as a Korean-American or a bilingual person (a person who has Korean nationality is not eligible)

3. Term of Employment

 The renewal of contract is available.
* Science and Economics: 2 years (August 23, 2010 - August 22, 2012)
* English: 1 year (August 23, 2010 - August 22, 2011)

4. Working Hours

- 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday (*Working hours can be adjusted by schools circumstances.)

5. Working Condition

       - Salary (depending on qualification and experience/negotiable)
         * Starting from 40,000,000 KRW per year (for Science and Economics)
                                2,500,000 KRW per month (for English)
       - Housing: Furnished housing provided.
       - Entrance allowance: Up to 2,000,000 KRW including airfare, moving expenses, etc.
       - Severance pay: equivalent to one month"s salary.
       - Compulsory medical insurance: 50% of premiums paid by employer
       - National Pension: 50% of contributions paid by employer

6. Selection Process

       - Stage 1: Evaluation of submitted documents (KSA will give individual notice.)
       - Stage 2: Interview and open class lecture (30mins. each)
          - Only for applicants who pass stage 1
          * If the applicant cannot have a face-to-face interview at KSA, the interview will be done using real-time video or telephone.

7. Required Documents to be submitted

       - Application [KSA form]
       - Certificate of every academic degree (photocopy of the diploma)
       - One photocopy of passport
       - 2 or more recommendation letters
       - The final degree thesis (or abstract of the thesis) * only for Science and Economics

8. Application Period

- From March 22 to April 30, 2010.
